Masseria Italian Steakhouse: Reviews & Ratings

We had our holiday event here! Fairly new place inside a hotel. Look for street parking or park in underground garage (not obvious sign) or valet. If you valet - make sure to validate your ticket for 50% off. Large bar! Spectacular decorations with fire place going. Main dining room is fairly small but then there is a private banquet room with glass window to the kitchen and aged meat on display… Quick and pleasant service but DEMN it was noisy. They were packed however. No complaints about food. Cant comment on main menu since we had out set corporate event menu but fish shrimp surf and turf as well as pasta and pizza were all good! Bartender also tried and kept drinks flowing… Good spot for a dinner or lunch or for a special occasion

You start off by having an assortment of different breads coming around to the table. For the appetizer I chose the Burrata oven cured tomatoes, basil, Sicilian sea salt. Entree I the had the Vitello Valdostana thin Nature veal chop, stuffed w/ fontina, mozz, 24mo. Prosciutto di San Daniele, mushroom marsala sauce. I split it- it was a substantial portion. Of course I saved room for dessert splitting between 3 people. APPLE TART Puff pastry shell, caramel sauce, vanilla gelato. The place, food and staff was Divine!

This place was amazing from start to finish. I ordered the Surf n Turf special which was outstanding. The steak coulf have been one of the best ever for me. Definitely the best of 2025. The flavor and char was off the charts good..If I remember correctly, this location is where the old Bennigans was way back in the day. Will definitely go back again for sure. Parking is on your own, unless you use the headquarters plaza valet which is $20 and does not accept Cash. You get $10 credit if you validate at the restaurant..whatever you have to do to find a spot is worth it. Desserts were fantastic as well and our waiter Dan was on point the entire night. Can't wait to go back.

I’ve eaten here 4 times over the past few months (always on Friday nights) and my experience has been consistently excellent. The specials are always wonderful, some pictured are the poached pear appetizer, the halibut and lobster risotto, the fried soft shell crab with mixed greens, and the apple tart dessert. I’d strongly recommend considering their specials since they definitely have a great team in the kitchen coming up with these dishes. Their menu items are great as well, the fillet was cooked well (the sweet onion it was served with was a nice touch) and the pappardelle bolognese was rich and indulgent with a good amount of meat in the sauce (pictures are deceptive, the dish it’s served in is deep so the portion is better than it looks). The grilled asparagus side was well seasoned and not too oily. Desserts have also been nicely done. Every dish has been plated nicely. The non alcoholic drink options are sparse but the lemon basil soda is very nice, not too sweet, and the fresh basil is a great touch. They even improved on the bread by the time of my last visit when they started to served it with olive oil, butter, and I think hummus. Every dish I’ve had here has been great and I would recommend all of them. In addition to great food, service is always friendly. My first couple of visits the meal took a bit longer than I’d expect but the last two the food came much faster and my dishes were cleared more promptly, so the improvement has been very nice to see. The dining room has had the windows open, which has been enjoyable, the noise level stays on the low side even as the dining room fills up, and I like the fact that they play relaxing lounge singer type music. The bathrooms are consistently clean as well. This is probably my favorite restaurant in Morristown and I look forward to my future visits!

I walked into this stunning restaurant which was decorated so warmly. Beautiful color palette of yellows, greens and natural wood. I felt transformed back in time to an era where fine dining is an experience. I looked over to the green banquette table and imagined Frank Sinatra sitting there with his rat pack. The staff is friendly & attentive. Love the jackets worn by the wait staff. Windows were opened once the sun started to come out around 5:30pm and the glow of light and gentle breeze poured into the dining area. I requested a drink ( not on the menu) but Eric said we’ll make it once I gave him the ingredients. My Bermuda Rum Swizzle was 99 % perfection. My dinner of scallops was excellent, dessert delicious and evening amazing. Bianca also gave us a tour of the dining areas. A must dining experience. Truly perfection.

Located in the heart of Morristown, NJ, Masseria Italian Steakhouse offers an authentic and elevated dining experience that skilfully blends classic Italian flavors with a vibrant steakhouse atmosphere. This cozy yet elegant venue, nestled within the Headquarters Plaza Mall, invites guests to indulge in a thoughtfully curated menu featuring standouts like the rich, meaty Pappardelle Bolognese and the crisp, refreshing Caesar Salad. The kitchen’s dedication to quality shines through dishes such as the Whole Branzino served with fingerling potatoes, heirloom tomatoes, and pignoli nuts, as well as the Pulpo – perfectly grilled octopus set over a Tuscan bean ragu and accompanied by creamy chorizo-infused broccoli rabe.

Masseria’s ability to balance hearty meats like aged steaks and veal with fresh seafood offerings such as Shrimp Scampi in a delicate white sauce exemplifies its culinary range. The restaurant’s wine and cocktail program is equally impressive; the signature Pisco Sour is a refreshing complement to the robust flavors found throughout the meal. The welcoming ambiance is elevated by stylish décor, a large, lively bar, and thoughtful touches like an open kitchen with aged meat on display, offering a glimpse into the craft behind every dish.

Patrons consistently praise the friendly, attentive service and the vibrant energy that fills the space, especially during bustling weekend nights. While the main dining room is intimate, the private banquet area provides a refined space for special events, enhanced by natural light streaming through glass windows overlooking the kitchen. The atmosphere, combined with standout dishes like the creamy mushroom marsala Veal Valdostana and the delicate Burrata with oven-cured tomatoes and Sicilian sea salt, hint at an experience where every detail is refined and deliberate.

On my visits, the flavors struck a perfect balance between tradition and innovation — the Pappardelle was rich but never overwhelming, the grilled asparagus side was seasoned just right, and desserts like the Apple Tart with caramel sauce and vanilla gelato delivered a memorable sweet finish. The attention to presentation elevates each plate, turning every meal into both a visual and gastronomic delight.

In sum, Masseria Italian Steakhouse is a top choice in Morristown for those seeking Italian-inspired steakhouse fare with finesse. Whether it's a casual lunch, an intimate dinner, or a celebratory gathering, this restaurant delivers consistent quality, warm hospitality, and a vibrant, authentic atmosphere that lingers long after the last bite.
